Julie & Brendan,
We are a little slow jumping on the blog bandwagon. As always, our strongest prayers are with you and the family. I will hold on to the thought that you can beat this “Rufus”. My mom has shown me what positive thinking can bring you. I have become quite the expert on support roles. I shrink back from nothing.I know we are not the closest in location, but we are just a phone call away for anything, REALLY!!! All our love and prayers. Will keep signing on for updates. YAY GOD!!
Mary
PS - I know where to get some great looking head covers if you need them. They even do real hair eyebrows, I know, interesting isn’t it?
Julie,
As I read about the cancer on our CLHS website I just felt for you.As
I read this page and how you tell about your cancer I am in awe of your
strength.I can’t help but cry. You are an amazing and strong person.I
remember you were one of the first friends I had when I moved here in the 8th
grade.I remember you to always be so funny and you were always laughing,
which in turn made me laugh.Julie, it is amazing how sick you are and yet
you still find a way to be yourself by showing humor through this illness.
Most people would be a nervous wreck. I am sure you have those momments, but
as I can see you do have faith in God.God is with you each momment. I know He is
the one giving you the strength to be strong for your husband.I am in tears as
I write this.I can’t imagine at all what you are going through.I will keep you in my prayers.
May God use you as a mimister those who are facing the illness you have.
Julie,I know others will agree with me, but you have ministered to me through your strength and Gaith in God.May God bless you and your family.
Sorry for the typos, but through the tears it was hard to type.Keep your faith
in God and he will direct your path.I love you Julie!
We really enjoy following your updates , and are the define “Strength” .
Julie,
What an awesome witness you and your family are! God is so proud of you guys and how you are battling this disease! I pray God brings you peace in knowing He is with you always and has a plan for you. I pray for wisdom for you and the doctors. Also, for peace and protection for your sweet children. Finally, for healing and comfort.

Julie,
I have been thinking so often about you and your family the past few months. Kerber continues to keep all of us old CLHS theater alums up to date on what you’ve been going through (thanks, Kerber). I hadn’t looked at your site until today. You are very brave and inspiring. Really cute kids too, by the way. Just know you have good thoughts constantly coming your way from San Francisco.
Please feel free to contact me if you need anything that I could help with. If any treatments bring you out this way, of course you have places to stay etc.
All my best to you and your whole family,
With love,
Amity
Hi Julie -
I found Jennifer Kerber on My Space and she told me what has been going on with you. First of all, I’m with Amity (Hi, Amity!) in appreciating Kerber for keeping in touch with folks and being easy to find. Second, I wanted you to know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers. I have little ones myself, so I can imagine how hard it must be. I’d really like to hear from you and maybe see you guys next time I’m in the Houston area. We live in D/FW currently after about a decade in Austin. I have such great memories of you from high school, so I’m posivite you are an awesome mom. Your kids are gorgeous!
Love,
Julia
“Posivite”? Should be “positive.” Though think “posivite” should be a word!
Julie,
Just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers on a daily basis. Your courage and determination is truly exceptional and inspiring.
God bless you and your family!
Dearest Julie & Brendan,
I know you don’t know me, I follow Ali Edwards blog & I saw that your family needed some extra prayer right now. I stayed up for hours last night reading your whole story. WOW!!! what faith you and Brendan have to get through this journey of Rufus. I know so many of us would be “why me”, “why me”??
But you just take one day at a time with humor & grace & mercy. You are my hero, there are things in my life that are troubling, but last night as I prayed for you & your family, I thanked God for everything in my life that he has blessed me with as I usually do, but with a different heart.
I wish I lived closer to you & your family I just want to help you with anything that you need.
I see that you have a beautiful family & support to help you through this. I pray for healing & comfort as you take this day by day. Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.
I also want you to know how awesome your kids are & how adorable they are… you have taught them about courage & determination…they are so blessed.
You are so very inspiring to anyone who has or will go through this journey. I see your blog not only as a daily journal of your life but as a book that would be so inspiring to someone going through this and how they can cope with the questions & answers they get or don’t get. You & Brendan have been truly blessed with the gift of writing & inspiring others in this same journey.
Blessings,
Sherry
Hi Brendan
I found this site through a link on another blog and I’m so sorry about your news. My father has had melanoma for 22 years (he is lucky to be alive).
I lost my first wife to breast cancer some years ago. She was in her early thirties and the kids were very small. My site is telling that story.
It was desperately hard, but somehow we survived and we are still here and thriving now. You can do this.
I see your most recent post was about putting up Christmas decorations. Well done. One day at a time, and at least Christmas is behind you now, for another 12 months.
Spirits up.
Hello just looking around for other Lyons web Sites.I’m a 100% Disable Vietnam Combat Veteran
