Away in a Manger
Here is one of my “gifts” this Christmas. Very bitter sweet for me… He is such a good kid and this is just one of those moments where I know his mom would just be beaming with pride and wrap him up in a big hug. She so deserves to be here and share in these moments with him….why is she not???? It is just so crushing… no words to describe. The best I can hope for is for two more gifts similar to this one. One from Hallie and one from my baby Kendall. Of course in their own special way with a touch of their personality… an individual memory of this Christmas Holiday from each. All a Dad needs…This is Julie’s boy…

You are so right, Julie would have LOVED that performance. I am also so excited to see that you have the house decorated. That was always so important to Julie. She loved decorating for Christmas. I hope you get two more gifts. You have amazing kids.
Awesome. You’re doing great Brendan. Love You.
Brendan-
What a precious little lamb! I have been thinking about you and your children. May God give you strength. Merry Christmas to you and your three beautiful babies!
-Jamie
The accompanying hand motions are genius!
That was great…thanks for sharing! I especially love the “awakes” part!
Jack and I had a great day together. Hallie went to play with Juliana so it was just Jack and I.
On the way home though they both gave me a solo performance of the what they sang the night before at the Christmas show at school. Jack sang Away in the Manager. We played with cars racing them up and down my hallway. We played with the children’s Navity Set. We watched a sing along DVD and listened to a CD. It was a fun 2 hours. He is a great little boy - Oh - we also had some delicious Boston Creme Cake with Starwberries on the top with a little soft drink to wash it down. Fun time had by all.
the thing that this picture doesn’t capture about the decorating is that the ornaments were all placed within inches of each other on one side of the tree until we discussed the concept of dispersal!
That is just precious. Jack looks more grownup than when we saw him a month ago.
Julie must be so proud looking down on her beautiful children. Thank you for sharing. Lisa L.
Julie is so beaming down on you and the children! That is beautiful and I loved all his hand gestures! You WILL receive two more gifts because your children are special! Julie is positively beaming! Keep on moving forward Brendan! You are living proof of FAITH in its real meaning! God Bless you and Yours always!!! Merry Christmas!
My heart seriously breaks for you. Please keep moving forward, and maybe join a grief support group. I will pray for you.
Brendan
You made it through a year to face another Christmas. That’s a huge achievement, even if bitter sweet, as you so rightly say.
They say that time is a great healer, but I’m not sure that’s entirely true. It’s just that as time passes, you realise you can’t change what happened. And you do get stronger in bearing the unbearable.
Wishing you and your family the best Christmas that you can have. Kind regards and much admiration to you all, from London.
wow….no other word except wow..
